Yesterday, Monday, March 10, 2025, Mansour Faye, former minister under Macky Sall and brother-in-law of the former president, was banned from leaving Senegal at Blaise Diagne airport, as he was preparing to board a flight to Saudi Arabia. Furious, he claimed that he was not subject to any proceedings. But for Aminata "Mimi" Touré, former Minister of Justice, this ban is based on solid legal foundations and aims to prevent those responsible for hijacking from escaping.
In a scathing post, Mimi Touré invokes Article 33 of the Code of Criminal Procedure: "If an investigation is opened, the prosecutor shall carry out or have carried out all acts useful for the investigation and prosecution of the offences." She ironically states: "No Air Yolékou for the predators of our public finances! If the perpetrators of the financial carnage run away, who would the prosecutor prosecute?" For her, this measure is a necessity to track down the culprits.
The former Prime Minister recalls an explosive detail: "The report of the Court of Auditors of August 22, 2022 on the management of Covid-19 funds, transmitted to the prosecutor by Macky Sall himself, points to embezzlement. While our fellow citizens were falling ill or dying, some were helping themselves. They must answer for their actions!" She thus justifies the ban on Mansour Faye, seen as a "person of interest" in these investigations.

« Pas de Air Yolékou pour les carnassiers de nos finances publiques ! Si les auteurs des carnages financiers se font la malle, qui le procureur poursuivrait-il ? »
Le fait d'avoir cédé à la demande insensée des députés d'alors pour donner des passeports diplomatiques à leurs épouses a ouvert la porte à toutes les dérives. Et cela risque de décridibiliser davantage le passeport
