The Permanent Secretary of the Strategic Orientation Committee for Oil and Gas, Khadim Bamba Diagne, shared information on revenues from Senegal's oil exploitation. Invited to the show "Face à Bl", he explained that "a large part of the revenues generated by the sale of oil is absorbed by the oil companies which first recover their investment costs (75%), then share the remaining 25% with the State and Petrosen".

According to the economist, after deducting costs (75%), 25% of the 595 billion CFA francs generated by oil sales remains. Of this 25%, 80% goes to the oil companies, 18% goes to Petrosen, and the rest is intended for the State in the form of taxes.

"Of the 595 billion from oil sales, I believe that the State will have no less than 70 billion," revealed Khadim Bamba Diagne.

He also mentioned that Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko is considering renegotiating these contracts in order to obtain a better share of revenue for the Senegalese.
