The issue of Senegal's hidden debt continues to fuel debate. Civil society figure Alioune Tine has challenged members of Macky Sall's late government, particularly Pape Malick Ndour, on the management of this debt, estimated at more than 4,000 billion CFA francs. "We need explanations on this," he posted on X, demanding greater transparency regarding the use of these funds.

The founder of the Afrikajom Center think tank also quoted Eddy Gemayel, a representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), who stated that this debt had been concealed in order to allow the country to borrow more on the financial markets.

A statement that fuels questions about the real state of public finances at the end of Macky Sall's regime.
