Thierno Alassane Sall's bill to repeal the amnesty law was rejected by the National Assembly. According to the institution's vice-president, Dr Ismaela Diallo, the examination of the text revealed a non-compliance with the constitutional provisions on budgetary matters.

This rejection of the bill, which Pastef had promised during the presidential campaign, caused Abdoul Mbaye to react. As a reminder, Dr. Ismaela Diallo explained that any proposed law having an impact on state resources or leading to an increase in public spending must necessarily be accompanied by financial compensation measures. Something that Thierno Alassane Sall's proposed law did not respect.
