In a grateful statement, the Head of State praised the warm welcome extended to his delegation by His Majesty Emperor Naruhito, Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, and the Japanese people. He emphasized the quality of hospitality and the constant attention that characterized this visit.
This diplomatic mission also served to celebrate 65 years of bilateral cooperation between Japan and Senegal, a relationship that President Faye described as "fruitful and exemplary," based on mutual respect, peace, democracy and international law.
The city of Osaka, a symbol of the alliance between ancient tradition and technological innovation, provided an ideal setting to strengthen ties between the two nations. The President highlighted opportunities for collaboration in the fields of technology, investment, vocational training, and humanitarianism, with a view to shared prosperity.
The Head of State also congratulated the organizers of the Universal Expo for the success of this global event, before concluding with a strong message: "Senegal is resolutely committed to deepening its strategic partnership with Japan, in the spirit of win-win cooperation in the service of our peoples and of Africa."
