Actif2025 en Grenade : vers un nouveau chapitre du commerce afro-caribéen
The Africa-Caribbean Trade and Investment Forum, Actif2025, recently held in Grenada, Spain, marked a historic turning point with over USD 300 million in signed commitments. But beyond the figures, it was a strong call from the leaders present that caught everyone's attention: to rewrite the rules of the trade game between these two regions, long dependent on models inherited from colonialism.
The eight agreements concluded are only the beginning of a broader ambition. The leaders emphasized the need to create their own institutions, adapted to African and Caribbean realities, and to establish integrated payment systems. This financial and institutional integration project aims to free trade from external dependencies, to build a solid, autonomous bloc capable of influencing the global economy.
This bold and necessary dynamic places Afro-Caribbean cooperation on a new path. It focuses on the development of local human and financial resources and a shared vision of economic sovereignty. The challenge is to move beyond the legacies of the past to create a more equitable and prosperous future together.
