Concertation nationale sur l’ESS : le Sénégal trace sa voie vers un avenir solidaire
Yesterday, Tuesday, August 19, Dakar hosted the first national consultation on the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) in Senegal, bringing together government representatives, international partners, and civil society actors. The event marks an effort to structure a growing sector and make it a concrete lever for sustainable development.
The aim is to define a national strategy that promotes economic inclusion, stimulates social innovation, and strengthens cohesion between the various stakeholders in the social and solidarity economy (SSE). It is part of the recent framework law aimed at consolidating this sector and clarifying its governance and financing mechanisms.
Leaving aside regulatory aspects, the meeting highlights the importance of creating synergies between public and private initiatives, cooperatives, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and social entrepreneurs. These collaborations are essential to maximize the social and economic impact of the SSE throughout the country.
By strengthening the visibility and effectiveness of the social and solidarity economy, Senegal seeks to build an inclusive and sustainable development model, capable of inspiring other African countries while meeting the needs of its most vulnerable populations.
