Mines : Le Sénégal présente un projet de 509 milliards pour developper un pôle régional
To become a major mining player in West Africa, Senegal has officially presented a project to develop a regional mining hub valued at 509 billion CFA francs. The project, led by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Sérigne Guèye Diop, was presented on March 20, 2025.
According to RTS, this project aims to generate approximately 6,000 direct and indirect jobs, while exploiting the rich mineral resources of the Thiès, Kédougou, and Tambacounda regions, including gold, phosphate, iron, and rare minerals. Funded by a public-private partnership, it is structured around three main axes: a collaboration platform to strengthen technical and human capacities, a logistics hub to optimize resource exploitation, and a service center to support the mining industry.
The government aims to increase the local share of mining services, currently at 23%, by developing local processing infrastructure, such as gold refining and jewelry. The ministers called on national and international investors to get involved while respecting local standards.

Le fait d'avoir cédé à la demande insensée des députés d'alors pour donner des passeports diplomatiques à leurs épouses a ouvert la porte à toutes les dérives. Et cela risque de décridibiliser davantage le passeport
