États-Unis : Un homme arrêté après avoir brûlé un drapeau américain près de la Maison-Blanche

Fire burns•A veteran was arrested near the White House after burning an American flag to protest Donald Trump's executive order criminalizing the act, a law he said contradicts a 1989 ruling on freedom of expression.

The incident began Monday evening. A U.S. Army veteran was arrested in Washington, DC, after setting fire to a national flag just steps from the White House. His goal was to demonstrate his opposition to a recent executive order by Donald Trump.

According to a video circulating on social media, the man shouted into a megaphone, "I burn this flag in protest of this illegal fascist president sitting in this house," before claiming to have served 20 years in the military to defend "the right of everyone to express themselves." He then lit a flag soaked in flammable material, which Secret Service agents quickly extinguished with a fire extinguisher. The individual was arrested by the National Park Police, who cited federal legislation prohibiting unauthorized lighting of fires in public spaces.

A decree in contradiction with the Constitution

A few hours earlier, Donald Trump had signed an executive order imposing a one-year prison sentence for anyone who burned an American flag. This measure goes against a 1989 Supreme Court ruling, which considered such acts to be a matter of freedom of expression, protected by the First Amendment.

Le drapeau gay est sacré il y a 19 heures

Le gars a officiellement été arrêté pour allumer un feu sans authorisation dans un park national (Lafayette Square).
Aux US, tu brûles un drapeau gay, tu prends quinze ans de prison.
