According to the Neuchâtel police and the Swiss Info newspaper, the man died after the young boy jumped on him from a five-meter high diving board.
The pool was quickly evacuated and emergency services attempted to intervene, but without success. The swimmer, who was seriously injured, died at the scene.
The young boy has not been identified. The pool, closed to the public during the operation, finally reopened the following day.
