Décès de la députée Fanta Sall : Koungheul rend hommage à son enfant prodige
The town of Koungheul and the entire Bambouck department are in mourning. The announcement of the death, this Wednesday, August 20, 2025, of the honorable Member of Parliament Fanta Sall has shocked her loved ones, her colleagues, and the people who had held her up as a model of courage, commitment, and generosity.
A “FANTASTIC” journey
Among the first voices to express their grief was that of Mamadou Diouf, known as Kaw, a fellow activist and coordinator of the deceased's political activities. In an emotional tribute, he described "a beautiful flower prematurely withered, before having even given all its useful buds to an entire people." For him, Fanta Sall's career, although brief, remains "superbly FANTASTIC." "I practiced her in the field of civic action. She was a great Lady with a divinely big heart, generous to the poor, altruistic towards humanity," he testified. Mamadou Diouf also recalled the trust that the young parliamentarian had placed in him, particularly during the last legislative elections of November 17, 2024, when she appointed him coordinator of her political actions. "Koungheul and the entire department are orphans of this Mother Teresa who was the honorable deputy Fanta Sall," he said, before concluding: "Farewell, dear eternal sister and faithful friend. May the land of Keur Diébel be light on you."
A loss for Koungheul and Senegal
Deeply affected, Alioune Badara Ly, mayor of Koungheul, also paid a vibrant tribute to the deceased. "The capital of Bambouck and, by extension, all of Senegal has just lost a worthy lady whose many social actions will forever inspire generations," he confided, his voice filled with emotion. The mayor recalled Fanta Sall's determination to defend Koungheul in the National Assembly: "She carried Koungheul in her heart. She was a true fighter, always devoted to the cause of women, the poor, and religion. She is a baobab tree that has just collapsed, but her name will not be lost in the sands of oblivion." He finally offered his deepest condolences to the MP's family, her activists and supporters, as well as to the entire Senegalese nation. "May Firdawsi be her eternal home. Amine," he prayed.
The Legacy of a Bamboo Lioness
Fanta Sall will be remembered as a "Lioness of Bamboo," a young parliamentarian who, despite a career cut short too soon, left her mark on her community through her commitment and actions to help the most vulnerable. Her passing leaves a huge void, but her legacy will continue to inspire the youth of Koungheul, Senegal, and beyond.

Elle a sûrement dû lutter contre la mort mais en vain. Mais c'est la vie.
J'espère que PROS lui a pardonné toutes les insanités qu'elle a prononcées à son égard
