Absence of Macky Sall: The "new" boss of the APR known

Macky

Now domiciled in Morocco and aiming to gradually withdraw from the political scene, Macky Sall has left much of the management of his party to his lieutenants. To manage meetings and activities related to the Alliance for the Republic (APR), some have seized power in the leader's absence.

According to information from Jeune Afrique, Amadou Mame Diop, former president of the National Assembly, chaired the first post-Macky Sall meetings, but he quickly ceded his place to Sidiki Kaba. The last prime minister under the former regime took the reins of the party, with the main task of reorganizing the troops to allow the APR to take center stage on the political scene.

According to the source, other party figures were eyeing the position, such as Abdoulaye Daouda Diallo, who was once a presidential candidate before Amadou Ba was chosen by the APR. However, the former finance minister was champing at the bit after his defeat in his homeland of Podor during the presidential election.

However, despite his absence, Macky Sall would be the one who sets the broad lines and directions of the party.
