Ziguinchor : les agents des collectivités territoriales exigent un statut clair et harmonisé
The inter-union of local government workers has expressed its demand for a rapid revision of their status in accordance with the state's policy of reorganizing and restructuring the local civil service. This was an invitation from the president of this inter-union, Daouda Badiane, following the training session for around thirty workers from the region's local authorities as part of the establishment of the local civil service. The president of the inter-union of local government workers, Daouda Badiane, who welcomed this series of training sessions initiated by Ziguinchor, stated that this approach helps resolve the issue of the usefulness and importance of municipal employees. "The municipal employee is an agent of public law," he declared, before specifying that there has always been confusion on this issue.
Daouda Badiane hopes that after these training sessions this issue will be resolved definitively and that Senegal will finally have quality staff. According to the president of the inter-union of local government workers, the need for training to have viable local governments is clear.
The mayor of Mlomp Bignona and municipal agent, Ansoumana Diémé, informs for his part that local authorities tend to be forgotten, while they have before, during and after in any activity.
