Ousmane BALDE to teachers who sounded the alarm Thank you dear colleagues. I really appreciated the reactions from colleagues concerning English TEST. You are certainly right to be concerned about the text which, in the opinion of some, is not in the context. This is their opinion and we consider that this position is to be respected. However, I would like to congratulate once again the colleague who proposed this subject at the last minute. My reasons are the following: First of all, we consider that the teacher is above all someone who raises awareness, alerting and forming a critical mind.  As such, he or she has the responsibility to raise the major issues of the world. For an educator in the 21st century, no subject is taboo, including homosexuality. What are we really looking for? To escape the reality that has imposed itself on us? In any case, I find it difficult to see how a topic that is on everyone's lips, the focus of many television shows, the most listened to radio programs, mobilizing energies in the street through protest marches can be avoided in class. Dear colleagues, you want to miss the opportunity to give voice to your students. It would be an injustice not to know what your children think about this issue, the very ones who are tomorrow's leaders. We do not claim to have a sole right to the truth - but it would be wrong not to agree with this colleague who is anticipating and tackling the major issues facing our time. I think it is relevant to raise this debate, which continues to make waves in our society. I think it is the best way to bring an answer to this burning question that we consider as a taboo. You will surely forgive this defense that some will consider useless but that imposed itself unto us. The colleague's merit is first of all to have accepted to try to propose us a piece of work. And yet I made a call for contributions to several colleagues who for the most part declined for various reasons. We congratulate the colleagues who agreed to stay up several nights to propose exam papers for the CODER AND the mock exam. And I invite you, dear colleagues, to congratulate them and thank them for their hard work. There is no perfect paper and there will always be debates.     Ousmane Ousmane BALDE to teacher trainers in Senegal   Thank you dear Colleagues Thank you for the great feedback. One more evidence that we have a living cell and that English remains a language that is alive. Thank you for the interest you have shown in the work done at the Academy of Rufisque. You made us aware that nothing is taken for granted and that we still need to be more vigilant to mitigate the errors that can always arise. We certainly lacked in vigilance by giving a test that was not supposed to be given. A valid one has been proposed for LV1 English. Unfortunately, a confusion has led us to send the wrong file.  We are as much hurt and damaged as all those who read this text which was already censored at our level. In a context of national mobilization against such a sensitive issue as homosexuality, a paper of this kind can only be justified by mistakes. It was unexpected and unfortunately it happened. We are not going to blame the heavens - we can only blame ourselves. We acknowledge our fault and take responsibility for this controversial topic, which was not intended to be a mock exam. The choice and validation of this paper among many others took place during the CODER contest, an intense moment for choosing papers. We thank the colleagues for their valid opinions and apologize for this obvious error that has crept into our work.     Ousmane BALDE
