A défaut d’être honoré de son vivant, Thione Ballago Seck sera décoré à sa mort. « Le Président de la République a informé le Conseil de sa décision de lui (Thione) décerner, à titre posthume, la distinction de Commandeur de l’Ordre national du Lion », souligne le communiqué du Conseil des ministres.Le chef de l’Etat a saisi l’occasion de la séance hebdomadaire avec ses ministres pour rendre un vibrant hommage au lead vocal du Raam Daan. « Thione Ballago Seck, fût l’un des plus grands musiciens de l’histoire du Sénégal. Parolier visionnaire et compositeur réputé, il a toujours développé un style musical spécial, faisant de ses œuvres, des références nationales et internationales », déclare Macky Sall.
