«Diarra Thiès» : «La maternité m'a appris que je...»
Singer Mame Diarra Mbaye, known professionally as "Diarra Thiès," is now married and a mother. In an interview published in L'Observateur, the winner of the 2013 Sen Petit Gallé competition confided that the birth of her son brought her "immense happiness" and strengthened her as a person. "Motherhood has taught me that I can be much more mature than I thought, and above all, more patient," she smiled.
This change has been felt in her life as an artist: "in the way I dress, in the way I shoot my music videos, in the way I approach my themes," she explains. "Diarra Thiès" suggests that she is thus able to harmoniously reconcile family and career. Her latest production, "Mbegté" ("Happiness"), she reveals, was even conceived during her pregnancy. "I can only thank God. Sometimes I wonder why I didn't have children sooner," the artist exclaims.
