Trafic de migrants à Saly : 18,6 millions F CFA à l’eau, 31 rêves brisés
The Saly Portudal Research Brigade has put an end to the escape of Sékou Omar M., Mouhamed B., and Bouh S., arrested on August 29 for having collected 18.6 million CFA francs from 31 would-be illegal immigrants. The three men, who have been missing with the money since August 17, have admitted their involvement in the affair.
According to the gang's modus operandi, described by L'Observateur, Bouh S. was responsible for collecting funds while Sékou Omar M. and Mouhamed B. provided accommodation and security for the migrants.
The latter, originally from Guinea, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Senegal and Togo, had each paid 600,000 CFA francs to try to reach Spain.
The three accused were brought before the Mbour public prosecutor's office and are being prosecuted for migrant trafficking and endangering the lives of others, the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group adds.
