Grande opération policière à Dakar : 126 suspects interpellés, hier
The central police station in Dakar, along with its substations and outposts, conducted a major security operation on the night of Friday, November 28th to Saturday, November 29th, 2025, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. This operation aimed to combat urban crime and strengthen the sense of security in the capital.
Under the command of Divisional Commissioner Mamadou Tendeng, head of the Regional Public Security (SRSP), the police officers patrolled several areas considered sensitive and criminogenic.
In total, 126 individuals were arrested for various reasons.
The police initially made 61 stops for identity checks, in order to control people in suspicious situations.
They also apprehended 25 individuals in a state of obvious public intoxication, representing a danger to themselves and others.
As part of the fight against drugs, detectives arrested 5 people for offering and supplying Indian hemp, as well as 5 others for possession and use of the same substance.
Two suspects were arrested for possession and trafficking of ecstasy, with the seizure of 17 packets.
In addition, 12 people were arrested for investigative purposes, due to their alleged involvement in suspicious activities.
Police also arrested two individuals for violence, assault, and illegal possession of bladed weapons.
An arrest has been made for assault and battery.
Regarding property crimes, two suspects were apprehended for attempted theft, while another was arrested for theft in a group.
Police also arrested four individuals involved in a robbery committed at night, according to Seneweb sources.
As part of the prevention efforts, two people were arrested for vagrancy, and two others for possession of cellulose products.
Police also arrested one person for insulting an officer in the performance of his duties, and another for begging.
In addition to the arrests, law enforcement seized 195 items related to traffic violations.
They also impounded seven motorcycles that were circulating in violation of safety rules.
