Busan-Xi Jinping : « la Chine et les États-Unis devraient être partenaires et amis »

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with his American counterpart Donald J. Trump in Busan, South Korea, on the sidelines of the regional conference on economic cooperation. This meeting marks a new stage in relations between China and the United States, characterized by stability and dialogue.

The Chinese leader welcomed the continued dialogue between the two powers, emphasizing that "China and the United States should be partners and friends." He stressed the need for both nations to stay on the right track, despite differences, to ensure the "smooth sailing of the giant ship of China-US relations."

According to him, China's economy maintains strong momentum: in the first three quarters of the year, growth reached 5.2%, while foreign trade increased by 4%, despite an uncertain global environment. "Our economy is like a vast ocean, resilient and full of promise," he said, while reaffirming Beijing's commitment to deepening reforms and further opening up its economy.

Xi Jinping also indicated that the two delegations had held in-depth discussions on economic and trade issues, reaching a consensus on several key points. He called for the swift implementation of the agreements reached in order to "restore confidence and boost the global economy."

Emphasizing the value of dialogue, the Chinese President stressed that the two countries should maintain open channels of communication, cooperate in combating transnational crime, money laundering, developing artificial intelligence, and preventing infectious diseases.

For his part, Donald Trump hailed the meeting as "a great honor," stating that China is "a great country" led by "a great and respected leader." The American president emphasized his long-standing friendship with Xi Jinping and affirmed that "the United States and China will continue to do great things together for the world."

The two leaders agreed to strengthen economic, energy, and trade cooperation, as well as to promote exchanges between their peoples. They also confirmed their intention to maintain regular dialogue.

Donald Trump expressed his desire to make an official visit to China in early 2026 and invited President Xi to visit the United States.

China will host the APEC summit in 2026, while the United States will host the G20 in 2026, two events that both leaders hope will be "productive and constructive" for global growth.

C'est juste de la diplomatie, les chinois ne sont pas assez fous pour se fier à nouveau aux USA qui les considèrent comme un péril à exterminer.
