En visite à Ouidah (Bénin), Claudy Siar rebaptisé : Découvrez son nouveau nom
Claudy Siar has been visiting Ouidah since yesterday, Friday, May 22, 2026. The famous radio host, who discovered his Beninese ancestry following a DNA test, has reconnected with his origins through a symbolic and spiritual journey in the historic city.

There were two ceremonies in total. The first was the Fâ ceremony (divinatory art). It is "secret," as the person involved stated in a message posted on his Facebook account.
"I asked the ancestors for the strength to forgive those who have offended me so much in recent months."
The second ceremony, more open, allowed the former host of 'Couleurs Tropicales' to symbolically lay down "his pains and defeats", which, according to him, the ancestors have taken care of.
“I asked the ancestors for the strength to forgive those who have wronged me so much these past few months. I must lay aside these mountains of injustice to move towards my destiny,” he declared. At the end of these rituals, the 62-year-old radio host was renamed. He is now called Kodjovi Zossoungbo.
"Having been born on a Monday, my name is Kodjovi."
“I am no longer an Afro-descendant, but an African from Ouidah, from the lineage, the Zossoungbo family, the founders of Ouidah. Having been born on a Monday, my name is Kodjovi,” he explained in his published post.

The media personality received Beninese citizenship and a Beninese passport yesterday, Friday, May 22nd. This date is quite significant, as it was on May 22nd that slavery was officially abolished in Martinique. Claudy Siar is, of course, originally from Guadeloupe.
