« La Gambie me manque… » : Le message de Yahya Jammeh annonçant son retour à Banjul
This is not a new event. Yahya Jammeh has announced his return to The Gambia this year more than once, even though he has never given a date. However, in his address last weekend, the former statesman mentioned, for the first time, a return in November.
"I will return in November 2025"
“I miss my country. It was supposed to last six months. Now you know how long I’ve been away, and I hear you all dreaming of my return. It’s not that I don’t want to come back, but I’ve always made it clear: I always want to come back. Insha’Allah, by the will of Almighty Allah, I will return in November 2025,” the former Gambian leader said in a WhatsApp audio message.
He promises that the details of his trip will soon be communicated by the leadership of his party, the APRC.
Meanwhile, the former strongman of Banjul is asking his supporters to remain calm and respect the laws of the country.
Adama Barrow's government has already announced that he will be apprehended upon his return to Gambia.
