Le chômage des jeunes en Guinée : Un défi national aux solutions urgentes
Every year, thousands of young people graduate from universities and training centers hoping to contribute to the country's development. However, opportunities remain limited in the face of a constantly increasing number of job seekers. This situation creates a sense of uncertainty and pushes some young people to consider other options, sometimes abroad.
Youth unemployment in Guinea stems from several factors. The mismatch between academic training and the actual needs of the labor market is one of the main obstacles. This is compounded by the underdeveloped industrial sector, difficulties in accessing financing for young entrepreneurs, and the limited absorption capacity of the labor market.
Beyond its economic dimension, youth unemployment can have significant social impacts. It can exacerbate poverty, encourage irregular migration, and generate growing frustration among young people. In a context where social stability is essential for development, the issue of employment therefore becomes a national priority.
Faced with this challenge, several approaches appear essential: strengthening vocational training, encouraging youth entrepreneurship, facilitating access to financing and promoting job-creating sectors such as agriculture, digital technology and infrastructure.
In this context, the reforms undertaken under the leadership of President Mamadi Doumbouya could provide an opportunity to accelerate job creation and strengthen public policies in favor of youth.
Youth represents Guinea's greatest asset. Transforming its potential into an engine of growth requires bold policies and strengthened collaboration between the State, the private sector, and development partners.
Because beyond the figures and statistics, youth employment remains above all a question of hope, dignity and future for an entire generation.
