Mali : "Les groupes terroristes ne tiennent pas face à la puissance de feu des (Fama)", affirme Abdoulaye Diop
In Mali, Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop held a press conference yesterday, Wednesday, November 12, in Bamako. The meeting, which took place at the venue currently hosting the International Defense and Security Exhibition, was attended by local and foreign journalists. Abdoulaye Diop began by denouncing the fake news circulating about his country, which attempts to suggest that "terrorists are in Bamako."
Our "Malian defense and security forces are achieving resounding successes on the ground"
For him, this false information, "concocted in the offices of foreign intelligence services," does not reflect the reality on the ground. "This is not Mali," he insisted.
What is certainly true, the diplomat continued, is the growing strength of the Malian army, which is now achieving resounding victories against these terrorist groups. “Mali has chosen to strengthen its defense and security with sincere partners. Recently, there has been tremendous effort to equip Mali's defense and security forces, which have achieved remarkable successes on the ground, defeating and eliminating terrorist groups, including their leaders. On the ground today, terrorist groups are no match for the firepower of Mali's defense and security forces,” declared Abdoulaye Diop.
These failures against the Fama would have forced these entrepreneurs of violence to "change their strategy to attack softer targets", the minister believes.
