Nigeria : Au tribunal, son mari insiste pour divorcer d'avec elle et elle tombe en syncope
A confusing situation unfolded yesterday, Thursday, October 16, in a zonal court in Ilorin, Nigeria. A woman known as Mulikat Yusuf fainted after her husband (Ishaq Abdulganiyu) insisted on divorcing her, rejecting her request for reconciliation. The man claimed he no longer wanted her as his wife.
"I see no reason to continue."
"I've had enough of this marriage, My Lord. We've had several misunderstandings, and I see no reason to continue," he told the judge. In tears, Mulikat Yusuf asked the court for help.
"My lord, help me talk to him. I have nowhere else to go. I gave him six children, and I still want our marriage to work," she said. Unmoved, Abdulganiyu reiterated his desire for a divorce.
A few minutes later, a distraught Mulikat left the courtroom, before suddenly collapsing outside. Concerned court officials rushed to revive her by spraying her with water.
The case is adjourned until December 10
Presiding Judge Toyin Aluko advised her to explore all means at her disposal to resolve the dispute with her husband. According to the News Agency of Nigeria, which reported the information, the matter was adjourned until December 10 for a settlement report or further hearing.
