In Nigeria, a young girl named Anu Mitchell Adeleke has publicly demanded a paternity test from Afrobeat superstar Davido.

In a message sent to the artist via Instagram on Thursday, January 15th, she said she was experiencing emotional distress due to the uncertainty surrounding her paternity and respectfully asked the Atlanta native to agree to a DNA test. "This analysis will help me establish my identity and move on," she continued.

A paternity dispute that's been going on for about ten years

It must be said that Anu Mitchell's initiative has reignited a paternity dispute that's been going on for about ten years. The little girl's mother has always maintained, since her birth, that she is Davido's child. Allegations dismissed out of hand by the singer and his representatives.

A year ago, the former lawyer of Nigerian artist Prince Bob Ajudua stated that two DNA tests carried out in reputable clinics, including one chosen by Anu's family, had indeed confirmed that Davido was not the biological father of the girl.

In the aftermath, Anu's mother, Ayo Labinjoh, released a statement rejecting the results of these DNA tests outright, accusing the black robe of spreading "false information" in a "malicious" manner.

"This is the last time I'll talk about this nonsense."

“We went to a small clinic where they took blood from my daughter in a private room, and where I saw money change hands in a brown envelope,” she said. It’s hard to know who’s telling the truth.

In any case, Davido continues to maintain that DNA tests had already resolved the matter. "I chose three hospitals and they chose two...all the results were negative...this is the last time I'm talking about this nonsense," he wrote on his X account on Thursday, January 15th.
