Nuit de tirs à Sonfonia Africof (Guinée) : Un père grièvement blessé par balles lors d’une opération militaire
During the night of December 26-27, residents of the Sonfonia Africof neighborhood in Conakry were abruptly awakened by heavy gunfire. According to several consistent accounts, the sounds of gunfire rang out intermittently until around 6:00 a.m., sowing panic among the population.
According to information gathered by SeneWeb Guinea, it was an operation carried out by soldiers who came in search of an individual in the neighborhood.
During this operation, a father was seriously wounded by gunfire in his own yard, after he reportedly screamed when he saw the soldiers enter their property.
“My father screamed when he heard a noise outside. That’s when the soldiers shot him,” his daughter recounted, still in shock. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he is currently receiving intensive care.
At present, no official communication has yet been made by the military or security authorities on the precise reasons for this operation, nor on the identity of the person being sought.
This incident raises new concerns about the safety of citizens and the conduct of night operations in certain districts of the capital.
