Plus de 100 kg de cocaïne découverts à Roissy : Un footballeur martiniquais devant la justice
On December 31, 2022, customs officers at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport made a stunning discovery. In the suitcases of Jean-Manuel Nedra and his partner, they found over 100 kilos of cocaine. The drugs are estimated to be worth over three million euros.
The Martinique footballer, then a player for Aiglon du Lamentin, had just arrived from Fort-de-France to spend the New Year holidays in Paris.
When questioned, he initially claimed to be unaware of the drugs in the luggage, explaining that he was simply transporting his uncle's belongings. However, as the investigation progressed, he admitted to accepting the trip for €20,000, while maintaining that he did not know the exact quantity of narcotics being transported.
The 33-year-old player also spoke of a difficult personal period, marked by the loss of a child.
In court, Jean-Manuel Nedra admitted to having served as a "link" in the operation, while denying any involvement in a drug trafficking network. His partner, who was pregnant at the time, maintained that she was unaware of the presence of narcotics in the suitcases.
Unconvinced by these statements, the court is now focusing on the messages found on their phones. The verdict in this high-profile case is expected on March 20.
