Increased security around Bamako airport: passengers advised to plan their journeys in advance

Sécurité renforcée autour de l’aéroport de Bamako : les passagers invités à anticiper leurs déplacements

Airport authorities in Mali announced, in an official statement dated April 27, 2026, the strengthening of security control measures on the roads leading to President Modibo Keita-Sénou International Airport.

The document, signed by Colonel Major Lassina Togola, Chairman and CEO of Airports of Mali, specifies that these measures aim to ensure the safety of travelers and facilities. However, they imply longer checks on access roads.

"Airports of Mali informs passengers and users that security control measures have been reinforced on the roads leading to the President Modibo Keita-Sénou International Airport," the official message reads.

Travelers are therefore advised to allow extra time to get to the airport, in order to avoid any inconvenience and not miss their flights.
