Carthage 2025: Après le Sénégal, la Côte d'Ivoire casse la baraque sur scène !
The 26th edition of the Carthage Theatre Days in Tunisia continues to live up to expectations with outstanding performances that keep Tunisian audiences and theatre enthusiasts captivated. For the 2025 edition, West Africa was well represented with the participation of Senegal and Ivory Coast in the official competition.

This Friday, November 28th, in the bitter cold, the Ivorian women combined business with pleasure after the energetic performance by the Senegalese, with the play "Back." They showed everyone that West Africa is synonymous with live theater. With magnificent acting accompanied by excellent live music, the play "La toge des insensés" (The Robe of the Fools), starring Annick Keïpo Loussouko, Eva Guehi Bomou, Aboubakar Bassa, and Papa Bapes Ricky Fashion, addressed social and cultural realities, including some topics considered taboo in traditional African society.
A performance that was highly appreciated by the public and that does honor to West Africa in this major cultural event which is a showcase for meeting and exchange for theatre lovers.

Created in 1983 by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the Carthage Theatre Days are among the oldest theatre festivals in the Arab world and Africa. They provide a space for encounter, experimentation and reflection for creators of the Arab, African and Mediterranean stage.
As a reminder, the closing ceremony followed by the presentation of trophies is scheduled for this Saturday, November 29th in the afternoon, in the presence of several personalities from the world of Arab-African arts and culture.
