Thieytou2026: Chaque citoyen dédie 1km à cheikh Anta Diop
After a successful 2025 edition, the 12th edition of the "Dakar - Thieytou International March" is scheduled for February 1-5, 2026, marking the fortieth anniversary of the passing of the Senegalese guide and scholar Cheikh Anta Diop, a reference for a standing and conscious youth.
The theme of this edition is "Pan-Africanism facing the geopolitical challenges of the moment", with the involvement of state structures such as the Grand Théâtre, the historical partner of this march, RTS and DMTA for a successful pilgrimage.
The starting point is scheduled for 8 a.m. in front of the UCAD gate, in the presence of artists and personalities who will accompany the walkers over a distance of about one hundred kilometers to pay a vibrant tribute to Cheikh Anta Diop.
Other activities are planned, such as panels and days of reflection on the life and work of the scholar.
