Embaló vante le duo Sonko-Diomaye, appel à l’Afrique unie
At the opening of the Invest in Senegal 2025 Forum in Dakar, the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, praised the vision and leadership of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, in the presence of several representatives of African and foreign governments. "It is a great pleasure for me to be among you in Dakar, this vibrant metropolis so dear to the hearts of the people of West Africa and the continent in general," he declared at the outset. He also paid tribute to the "remarkable organization" of the forum and the "legendary teranga of the Senegalese people."
The Guinea-Bissau head of state emphasized the shared destiny between the two nations, linked, according to him, "by kinship, centuries-old exchanges and an inseparable cultural and linguistic heritage." "All of Senegal's development efforts will naturally have beneficial repercussions in Guinea-Bissau, and vice versa," he said.
Welcoming Senegal's strategy to become a regional technology hub, Embaló called for building "Africa's future on science, technology, innovation, and creativity." He discussed shared priorities around the digital revolution, renewable energy, agro-processing, and connected health. "Our countries need investments that can impact the lives of their citizens, especially young people, women, and rural populations," he insisted. He advocated for a partnership model that is equitable, socially just, and environmentally sustainable. "Together, let us open new perspectives and build a future of social justice, solidarity, and shared prosperity," he concluded.
