Les taxes propulsent les recettes de l’État à +73,9 milliards FCFA
Senegalese public finances are showing encouraging momentum, according to the latest Statistical Benchmarks report from the National Agency of Statistics and Demography (ANSD), published Wednesday. In June 2025, total state revenue increased by 73.9 billion CFA francs, following a rise of 41.0 billion in May, marking a significant improvement compared to previous months. This performance was largely driven by an increase in tax revenue, which jumped by 76.8 billion CFA francs.
In contrast, non-tax revenues, including income from assets, fines, and asset sales, fell slightly by 2.9 billion CFA francs. On an annual basis, revenues increased by 52.7 billion CFA francs in June 2025, while in the first half of the year, they climbed by 19%, from 1,854.9 billion CFA francs in 2024 to 2,206.9 billion CFA francs in 2025.
These figures reflect an increased mobilization of tax resources, an essential lever for supporting major projects and financing the Economic and Social Recovery Plan in a context where the State is seeking to diversify its sources of financing.
This trend strengthens Senegal's fiscal capacity, despite persistent challenges related to dependence on budgetary grants and economic volatility.
