Pétrole sénégalais (T3) : Woodside a généré plus de 1.4 milliard de dollars en 9 mois
Woodside, the operator of the Sangomar field, has just unveiled its results for the third quarter of 2025. The Australian company, which holds an 82% stake in Senegalese oil, reports exceptional performance, with production of 99,000 barrels per day (Mbbl/d), which generated $477 million for the third quarter.
In the second quarter of the year, $510 million had been generated and $464 million by the end of March. In total, $1.468 billion has been generated so far for the year 2025, from Sangomar. That is around 831.1 billion CFA francs. In 2024, at the same time, $464 million had been generated by the oil company. That is around 262.7 billion CFA francs.
"Woodside recorded a quarterly production increase of 51 million barrels of oil equivalent. Sangomar maintained its exceptional performance, producing 99,000 barrels of oil per day with a reliability rate of 98.2%," said Meg O'Neill, the oil company's Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The question now is what will be Senegal's share in this period of budgetary tension? Will it increase? Or will resources continue to be devoted, in large part, to "cost oil," notably to reimbursing the oil company's exploration and development expenses?
