Transfert d’argent : Money Express en sursis
La Poste Burkina, the public postal service operator in the Land of Honest Men, has taken Money Express, its partner since 2005, to the Dakar Commercial Court. It is asking the court to declare Money Express "insolvent, and also to appoint a supervisory judge and a receiver for its liquidation," reports Libération in its Monday edition.
The Burkinabe operator filed this request after the bailiff appointed to seize Money Express's accounts to settle a debt of 7.128 billion CFA francs returned empty-handed. "Analysis of the seizure documents suggests that Money Express SA, as a company, has no bank accounts, or its accounts are closed or still in total debit," La Poste Burkina imagines in its summons, which Libération claims to have seen.
The Burkinabe company had joined the Money Express network on the basis of a contract dated May 11, 2005, the newspaper rewinds. The same source continues: "The said contract allowed Sonapost Burkina, which became La Poste Burkina, to offer its customers the Money Express money transfer service, but also to carry out transfers for itself throughout the world as stipulated in Article 2 of the agreement binding the parties. It is within this framework that the claim arose."
