Électricité : Senelec détaille les modalités de la baisse de 10 % des tarifs dès ce 1er janvier
Good news for the purchasing power of Senegalese people. In accordance with the decision of the Energy Sector Regulatory Commission (CRSE), a new tariff schedule comes into effect this Thursday. It includes a significant price reduction for small consumers.
As part of the Government's social policy, Senelec is implementing a 10% tariff reduction on the first consumption bracket. This measure, which takes effect on January 1, 2026, is specifically aimed at supporting households and strengthening the competitiveness of small businesses.
Who are the beneficiaries?
The discount applies to the first consumption bracket (from 0 to 150 kWh) for two main categories, whether they are in post-payment or pre-payment mode (Woyofal):
Domestic Small Power Use (DPP) : The tariff changes from 91.17 FCFA/kWh to 82.00 FCFA/kWh.
Small Professional Power Use (PPP) : The price of the kilowatt-hour falls from 163.80 FCFA to 147.43 FCFA.
In total, more than 2.6 million customers across the country will benefit from this price reduction.
What remains unchanged
It is important to note that this measure is targeted. The rates for higher power tiers, as well as those applied to Medium and High Power customers, remain unchanged.
Furthermore, Senelec reminds customers that the tariff structure for domestic customers remains as follows:
1st tranche: from 0 to 150 kWh (now at the reduced rate).
2nd tranche: from 151 to 250 kWh.
3rd tier: above 250 kWh.
For Woyofal users, the regulations remain strict: the price of the second tier is aligned with that of the third, and the 18% VAT applies only according to the provisions in force.
Through this initiative, Senelec reaffirms its commitment to supporting its customers while promoting more efficient and responsible management of electrical energy in Senegal.

Suivi en temps réel des tranches : Un indicateur visuel simple (barre de progression) permettrait de savoir exactement où l'on se situe (Tranche 1, 2 ou 3) avant de valider l'achat.
Transparence totale : Le reçu numérique détaillerait précisément le prix HT, le montant de la baisse appliquée et la TVA, évitant ainsi les surprises sur le nombre de kilowatts reçus.
Une telle innovation digitale transformerait cette baisse tarifaire en une véritable avancée vers la souveraineté numérique et énergétique des ménages. Simplifier la facturation, c’est aussi redonner du pouvoir aux consommateurs.
