Sentenced on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, to one month in prison and a fine of 150,000 CFA francs for drug possession and use, as well as for corruption after attempting to barter her freedom for 2 million CFA francs, Dame Amar finds herself at the center of a new legal saga. The business leader was taken from his cell at Rebeuss prison by police yesterday, Monday.
Following his hearing in the presence of his lawyer, Mr. Dalsilva, Ms. Amar was taken into custody for fraud and non-public insults committed via an electronic communication system, according to exclusive information from Seneweb. He was brought before the Dakar High Court this Tuesday morning.
A transaction that turns into a scam
The case began when Dame Amar, then staying in Dubai, offered SM Guèye the sale of a Cadillac Escalade. The two men agreed on the terms of the transaction, and the buyer paid a substantial advance of one million CFA francs to secure the purchase. However, after collecting the deposit, the alleged seller completely changed his attitude. Instead of honoring his commitment, Dame Amar resold the vehicle to another buyer, leaving the original buyer in the lurch, according to the investigation.
Refusal of reimbursement and insults
Realizing that he had not received the promised vehicle, SM Guèye attempted to contact Dame Amar by telephone to obtain an explanation and demand reimbursement of his advance. The suspect's reaction was surprising, to say the least: not only did he categorically refuse to repay the sum, but he also launched into insults against his victim via the WhatsApp application, according to the investigation. These insulting messages, sent via an electronic communication system, constitute an additional offense in addition to the main fraud.
The complaint and the investigation
Faced with this situation, the car dealer SM Guèye had no choice but to file a complaint with the police. The investigations conducted made it possible to gather the necessary evidence to establish the facts alleged against Dame Amar, in particular thanks to the WhatsApp exchanges kept by the victim.
Late repayment does not erase the lawsuits
Taken from prison yesterday, Dame Amar was questioned about the charges against him. It was at the police station that he reimbursed the complainant the sum of one million CFA francs through his relatives. Despite this repayment, the accused has just been brought before the public prosecutor, and he risks a new arrest warrant. Otherwise, Dame Amar will return to prison to serve the remainder of his sentence.

Au départ, comme beaucoup, je pensais que ce fils de riche méritait pleinement les accusations portées contre lui et qu’une condamnation sévère était inévitable. Mais, à vrai dire, après avoir entendu les débats, j’ai compris qu’il ne méritait même pas de passer deux jours en prison.
D’abord, selon ses avocats la police est entrée chez lui en pleine nuit, à 1h30 du matin, en défonçant les portes — une procédure clairement illégale. Ensuite, les stupéfiants découverts sur place n’excèdaient même pas 5 grammes. Ce n’est pas sérieux pour justifier un tel acharnement.
Il faut aussi rappeler que ce garçon est resté quatre ans hors du pays, et à peine revenu au Sénégal, il a aussitôt été incarcéré. Comme si son simple retour suffisait à lui attirer tous les malheurs.
À cela s’ajoutent les drames qu’il a vécus dans sa vie personnelle : la perte de son père, de sa mère et de son frère. Franchement, plutôt que de le traîner dans la boue chaque jour, il mérite qu’on lui tende la main. Ce qu’il lui faut aujourd’hui, ce ne sont pas des humiliations, mais des soins, du soutien et un vrai accompagnement pour l’aider à surmonter cette situation.
