Promesse de multiplication d'argent à Thiès : Un féticheur escroque 26 millions F CFA à une vendeuse de fruits
The urban security unit of the central police station in Thiès brought the traditional healer A. Sy before the High Court on Tuesday on charges of fraud and quackery. His arrest follows a complaint filed on December 11th by Ms. S. Seck, a fruit vendor residing in the Pikine neighborhood of Saint-Louis. The complainant claims she was defrauded of 26,000,000 CFA francs by this charlatan based in Thiès, according to Seneweb sources.
According to her statements, the case dates back to October 2025. An acquaintance put her in contact with A. Sy for a mystical treatment for her son, OD, who suffered from behavioral problems which she attributed to evil spirits.
Throughout this treatment, the witch doctor dangled before her the prospect of his ability to solve her financial difficulties by miraculously multiplying any sum of money she entrusted to him.
Seduced by this promise, Ms. Seck began transferring money to the fetish priest's electronic accounts.
Seeing no progress and pressured by the members of the tontines she managed as well as by other creditors, the lady went to the police station with photocopies of all the transactions carried out.
Arrested in the Mbour 3 district, the charlatan A. Sy admitted to promising Ms. Seck that he would make her money grow. He acknowledged receiving 12,000,000 CFA francs of the money he received. However, the total amount transferred, according to the supporting documents presented by the complainant, is 18,000,000 CFA francs.
Regarding the use of the funds received, the suspect explains that he acquired a Ford vehicle for 2,500,000 CFA francs and squandered the rest.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the vehicle was placed under seal and the suspect was brought before the public prosecutor at the High Court of Thiès.
