Tribunal de Thiès : Deux femmes à la barre pour une affaire de «lakh»
In her sixties, Mr. Cissé was brought before the Thiès court for assault and battery resulting in a six-day period of temporary incapacity for work. She is being prosecuted for the alleged assault of young A. Diakhaté, stemming from a dispute over a "lakh" (millet porridge).
According to the victim, the incident occurred during her uncle's baptism. After filling a bottle of "lakh" to take home, she was approached by Mr. Cissé, who allegedly tried to stop her. An argument then broke out between the two women.
The situation reportedly escalated when Mr. Cissé, assisted by his daughter Coura, violently assaulted her, causing the injuries documented in a medical certificate.
The case, which was brought before the court on Monday, was ultimately not heard. The court decided to postpone the matter until the hearing on February 9th, in order to allow for the regularization of certain procedural aspects.
