The Rabat Court confirmed on April 13 the sentences handed down in the first instance against the 18 Senegalese fans detained in Morocco. Despite this, three of these compatriots are expected to complete their sentences tomorrow, Saturday, April 18. Their lawyer has issued a statement to this effect.
"The steps being taken under the coordination of our diplomatic and consular representation on the ground, and following the directives of the Secretary of State for Senegalese Abroad, will be carried out with respect for and protection of the dignity of our detained brothers. For those we hope will be released tomorrow, in accordance with their wishes, it will be a matter of accompanying them and, above all, allowing them to peacefully navigate the shock of leaving prison," stated lawyer Patrick Kabou.
He calls on everyone to support these fellow citizens serenely and with dignity for a normal return to life. "It is at times like these that our 18 compatriots detained in Morocco and their families need us even more," said the attorney.
