Accident de la route : Un autobus dérape et se renverse faisant 14 morts en Algérie
The road accident in southern Algeria left 14 dead and 34 injured.
The human toll from a road accident on Saturday in southern Algeria is tragic. Fourteen people were killed and 34 others injured when a bus skidded and overturned, according to the civil protection service.
Photographs from local media sites show the bus overturned on its roof by the side of a road, in the town of Tebelballa, about 400 km south of Bechar, in the south of the country.
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune "saddened"
The vehicle carrying passengers was travelling on a national road linking Bechar to Tindouf, in the far south of Algeria.
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said he was "saddened" by the accident and offered his condolences to the families of the victims.
This is the deadliest road accident since August when a bus carrying passengers fell into a wadi near Algiers, killing 18 people.
