A 20-year-old man was arrested in late October in the United States for murdering his mother with his fists and a hammer before fleeing into the woods.
She confessed to the crime as soon as the police arrived at the scene. On October 24, a 20-year-old man was arrested at his home in Connecticut (USA) for the murder of his mother, reports the New York Post.
According to initial findings of the investigation, he allegedly beat the 55-year-old victim to death with his fists and a hammer before fleeing into the woods, calling for his mother. Witnesses who saw and heard him at the time raised the alarm, according to a statement from the local police.
He confesses to the murder
The suspect was arrested at his home. When police arrived, his hands, face, and clothes were covered in blood. His mother's body was lying outside, suffering from serious injuries including a fractured skull. Paramedics tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate her before pronouncing her dead at the scene.
The young man immediately confessed to the murder, explaining that he attacked his mother with a knife, a hammer, and his fists. He was brought before the prosecutor on Monday and formally charged with murder. He was remanded in custody on $2 million bail. He now faces up to 25 years in prison for these crimes.
