France : Mort de l'acteur Bruno Salomone, figure attachante de "Fais pas ci, fais pas ça"
Bruno Salomone, known to the general public for his role as a bourgeois father in the television series "Fais pas ci, fais pas ça" or for that of Igor d'Hossegor, Jean Dujardin's rival in "Brice de Nice", died on Sunday at the age of 55.
The hilarious voice-over artist for Alain Chabat's game show "Burger Quiz," the comedian began his career as a stand-up comedian, notably with the troupe "Nous Ç Nous," alongside Jean Dujardin. Dujardin paid tribute to him on Instagram with a photo and a simple message, followed by a heart: "My brother..."
"It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Bruno Salomone" at the age of 55, his agent, Laurent Grégoire, told AFP. "He passed away this Sunday, March 15, after battling a long illness," he added.
The series "Fais pas ci, fais pas ça" ended its run in 2017 after nine seasons. The comedic element of this successful series was the antagonism between a bohemian family, the Bouleys (played by Isabelle Gélinas and Bruno Salomone), and a bourgeois family, the Lepics (Valérie Bonneton and Guillaume de Tonquédec).
Valérie Bonneton told Le Parisien that she was "shocked and deeply saddened." "Bruno was a wonderful person. We laughed a lot (...) Beyond his humor, he was extremely talented and funny. For inventing, for writing, for everything," she said.
"Behind that humor, there was an immense, a very great sensitivity. He's a raw nerve, after all," she emphasized.
After spending part of his childhood in Marseille and then in the Parisian suburbs, Bruno Salomone became known by participating in the 1996 show "Graines de stars" on M6. He then became a member of "Nous Ç Nous", before launching his solo career on stage.

A film, television and theatre actor, he had also done voice acting, notably being the voice of Jolly Jumper in James Huth's "Lucky Luke" (2009), whose title role was also played by Jean Dujardin.
Bruno Salomone had acted in other very popular television series, such as "Caméra café" and "Kaamelot", on M6. "The small world of Kaamelot mourns its Centurion. Hail Bruno," paid tribute Alexandre Astier, creator of the parody series, on Instagram.
Tributes poured in on social media. "Great," wrote comedian Florence Foresti, while M6 recalled that Bruno Salomone "will have left his mark on French television with his humor and unforgettable characters: thank you for the laughs and the memories."
In "Fais pas ci, fais pas ça", "his humor and sense of timing had won over the public", noted Canal+'s X account.
The new Minister of Culture, Catherine Pégard, referred to him as "a talented actor, a unique figure and much loved by the public".
Bruno Salomone's last appearance on the small screen was last year in the series "A priori" on France 3. The channel has just announced that season 2 will resume at the end of March with another star, former swimmer Florent Manaudou.
In a novel titled "Les misophones" (The Misophones), published in 2019 by Le Cherche-Midi, the actor addressed a source of suffering for him: an aversion to certain noises. "It can irritate you, to the point of obsessing you," he described on Europe 1.
"I love sounds, it's my job, I do sound effects... And we tend to think that we don't like sounds in general when we are misophonic, but it's only certain sounds. They are cataloged in our brain, and then we become obsessed with these sounds," the comedian explained.
