Le parquet général requiert la mise en liberté sous contrôle judiciaire de Nicolas Sarkozy
The public prosecutor's office on Monday requested the release under judicial supervision of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who has been imprisoned for 20 days following his conviction in the case of the Libyan financing of his presidential campaign in 2007, during a hearing before the Paris Court of Appeal.
"The risks of fraudulent collusion and pressure on witnesses justify requests for placement under judicial supervision," said Attorney General Damien Brunet, asking that "Nicolas Sarkozy's request" to be released be granted.
