A financial scandal has rocked the Ziguinchor regional branch of the Senegalese National Lottery (LONASE). According to sources close to the case, 29 million CFA francs were allegedly embezzled. The investigation conducted by the gendarmes of the Ziguinchor Research Section (SR) has gathered serious and consistent evidence leading to the arrest of the outgoing branch manager, I. Ndiaye, as well as six cashiers.

Following their hearing, the suspects were placed in police custody at the Ziguinchor SR premises for embezzlement of public funds amounting to 29 million CFA francs.

The affair was reportedly revealed following an audit mission carried out by the General Management of LONASE.
