Affaire West African Energy : Samuel Sarr, journée décisive
Samuel Sarr is enjoying provisional release. He is under house arrest and wearing an electronic tag as part of the investigation into the West African Energy (WAE) case, which has resulted in him being held in custody for several months. However, the former Minister of Energy is seeking a cancellation of the proceedings against him. His lawyers have filed two motions to this effect, which, after two adjournments, will be argued before the Indictment Division of the Dakar Court of Appeal this Thursday.
The Observer, which provides the information, recalls that "the first aims to obtain the cancellation of the order for communication issued on May 16, 20265, deemed irregular [by the defense]."
"The second," the newspaper adds, "requests the cancellation of the order of referral to the criminal police and placement under house arrest, issued on June 2, 2025, considered [by Samuel Sarr's lawyers] to be tainted by serious violations of the rights of the defense."
