Bougar Diouf sur sa convocation : "Mon combat pour l'État de droit est non négociable"
Bougar Diouf, president of the Patriotic Union (UP) and member of the DiomayePrésident coalition, has been summoned to the Special Cybersecurity Division, as announced by Seneweb in our previous publication. He is expected this Friday at 9 a.m., according to a press release he released.
Faced with this summons, Bougar Diouf adopted a posture of defiance. He informed national and international public opinion of his situation while specifying that "the fight" he was leading remained "non-negotiable." The political leader said he was fighting to defend the rule of law, protect the foundations of the state, safeguard the nation's higher interests, preserve the institutions of the Republic, respect for and legitimacy of the presidential office, the territorial integrity of Senegal, the sacredness of the presidential office, and the separation of powers.
Bougar Diouf thus takes a particularly strong position regarding the country's territorial integrity. "Senegal is one and indivisible," he insists, adding: "We will never recognize any part of the national territory as belonging to third parties."
It explicitly targets the MFDC (Movement of Democratic Forces of Casamance) and "any other separatist claim", reaffirming its "duty to defend national unity and sovereignty" of the country.
Veiled criticism of the Executive...
Without explicitly naming any personalities, Bougar Diouf appears to criticize the current organization of executive power. He evokes the case of "a Prime Minister who rushes to govern in place of the President, in contradiction with the established order," believing that it is "the duty of every citizen to defend the Republic."
...and call for mobilization
Far from being intimidated by this summons, the leader of the Patriotic Union calls for mobilization: "There will be no retreat or compromise in the face of the truth." Before inviting "all defenders of the Republic, civil society, the entire national and international press, the Y'en a marre movement and all true patriots" to "come and support him in this fight."
He concludes with a Latin formula: "Nemo censetur ignorare legem" (Ignorance of the law is no excuse), suggesting that his actions are within the legal framework.
