Fédé sénégalaise de foot : un membre du Comité exécutif envoyé en prison, il devait se rendre…
According to Dsports, as reported by Record in its Thursday edition, while Senegal is seething with anger after the Lions' elimination in the round of 32 of the World Cup by Belgium's Red Devils, a member of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) is languishing in prison. This is Modou Fall, who sits on the federation's Executive Committee.
The latter is the interim president of AS Pikine. "Modou Fall was placed under arrest on June 15 in connection with a land dispute. He was subsequently sentenced to six months in prison, three of which are to be served," club officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Record.
The federal official is taking over as interim head of AS Pikine following the ouster of former president Mamadou Guèye, who is himself embroiled in legal cases.
The sports daily reports that Modou Fall "was supposed to travel to Canada to attend the match between Senegal and Iraq. This trip was to take place after an initial setback: the refusal of his visa for the United States, which had prevented him from attending the Lions' first two matches."
