Manifs à Kaffrine : Trois étudiants présentés au Procureur
The central police station in Kaffrine arrested three students for gathering, participating in an unauthorized demonstration and disturbing public order.
The individuals in question are Idrissa Ndiaye, 23 years old, Abdoulaye Faye, 25 years old, and Ibrahima Sène, born in 2002. According to Seneweb sources, the suspects were brought before the High Court of Kaffrine yesterday, Wednesday, around 1 p.m.
As a reminder, students at the Kaffrine campus of the Sine-Saloum El Hadji Ibrahima Niass University (USSEIN) erected barricades and burned tires in the public road last Tuesday to demand payment of their scholarships.
During the clashes with law enforcement, police arrested three student protesters.
This arrest is part of a broader context of tensions shaking Senegalese universities, where students are demanding payment of their overdue scholarships.
