Plainte pour 40 millions F CFA : Amara Traoré en garde à vue
An unexpected legal battle is shaking up the world of Senegalese football. According to information from Libération, former national coach and former international player Amara Traoré has been taken into custody at the Saint-Louis Research Section (SR).
A complaint filed by former Senegalese international Souleymane Diawara is at the origin of the proceedings, the same source indicates. The newspaper specifies that Amara Traoré is being prosecuted for breach of trust involving 40 million CFA francs.
In his complaint, Souleymane Diawara claims to have given this sum to Amara Traoré several years ago for the purchase of land. However, the newspaper adds, no land was ever acquired and the 40 million CFA francs were never returned to him.
In his defense, Amara Traoré maintains a completely different version. He claims to have given the money to the plaintiff's own brother, who is now deceased.
