The indictment chamber of the Dakar Court of Appeal ruled this Thursday on the appeal concerning the provisional release of the former director of State Property and current mayor of Djiddah Thiaroye Kao.

Mamadou Guèye. According to Seneweb, the chamber upheld the refusal order issued by the investigating judge of the second chamber at the Pikine-Guédiawaye court.

Mamadou Guèye was remanded in custody on March 30, 2026, on charges of embezzlement of public funds, forgery and use of forged documents, and money laundering. This procedure is part of the investigation into the land ownership of the Pikine-Guédiawaye court, in which former Minister of Justice Ismaïla Madior Fall, Mame Boye Diao, and coach Cheikh Guèye are also charged.
